I James Going of the County of Patrick & State of Virginia being in sound mind & memory do ordain & make this my last will & testament in manner & form following to wit, First my will & desire is that all my just debts & funeral charges be paid in due time by my Executors, who are to be hereinafter named. Secondly my will & desire is that my daughter Peggy Adams have twenty five dollars over & above what I have already given her which sum I give to her & her heirs for ever. Thirdly my will & desire is that my daughter Prudence Goin have five shillings over & above what I have already given her which I give to her & her heirs for ever. Fourthly my will & desire is that my son Stephen Goin have five shillings over & above what I have already given him which I give to him & his heirs for ever.
Fifthly my will & desire is that my son William Goin have fifty five dollars over & above what I have already given him which I give to him & his heirs for ever. Sixthly my will & desire is that my daughter Betsy Goin have one hundred fifty dollars which I give to her & her heirs for ever. Seventhly my will & desire is that the foregoing legacies shall not be paid out of my estate untill my youngest children come of age & a distribution to take palce as is herein after described. Eighthly my will & desire is that all my estate be in the hands of my widow untill my youngest children com of age & then after the afore mentioned legacies are paid the remaining part to be equally divided among my three youngest children namely Arthur, Isaac & Nancy Goin which I give to them & their heirs for ever. Ninthly my will & desire is that if my widow does marry before the expiration of the time wherein my children are under her care that she have an equal child's part, which I give to her & her heirs for ever & if she shd not marry it is considered that she shall enjoy the same. And it further to be considered that if my widow marry whilst my children are in minority that my estate be taken out of her hands by my executors & kept in their hands & under their superintendance for the benefit of my children untill they arrive at full age. And lastly, I constitute & appoint my trusty friends Jesse Williams, Joseph Jessup, Joseph Jackson & Jno. A. Grigg, joint executors of this my last will & testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 24th day of August 1807.

I have no Going or Goin in my own lines and no further information on the family. I copied this Patrick county will out of a general interest in names there that had also been in early Frederick county. I found Going headstones in the Hopewell Friends cemetery outside Winchester.
