In the name of God, Amen. I Richard Shocklee of Somersett Co in the province of Maryland, carpenter, being aged and infirm of body but of sound and perfect memory praised be Almighty God and calling to rememberance the uncertainty of this transitory life and that all flesh must yield to death when it shall please God to call, so make constitute ordain and declare this my last Will and Testament revoaking and disanulling all and all manner of former will or wills by me made, viz. , Imprimis: I commit my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be decently buried as my executrix to be hereafter named shall think fitt hoping for its joyfull resurrection in and through the merits of my Redeemer Jesus Christ and for what worldly goods God has intrusted me with I give and bequeath as followeth. _____ Imprimis: After due payment of all my just debts which I will shall be justly and honorably paid and after my decease I give and bequeath to my son Richard Shockley 200 ac of land joyning upon the land that was formerly James Tracnos and which he is now seated upon ____ Item: I give and bequeath to my son David Shokley 200 ac of land whereon I now reside in case the said David Shokley shall die without issue the said 200 ac of land shall fall to my son William Shokley, my wife Ann Shokley to enjoy and possess my now dwelling plantation during her widowhood without molestation or hinderance from any of my children. I do desire design and order also that my handmill shall continue and remain upon the plantation where it now is irremovable for the use and benefit of my wife or they that shall possess the same.

Item: I give and bequeath to my son John Shokley a cow called Traveller and her increase. Item: I give and bequeath to my son David Shokley a cow called Pretty and her increase also out from (?). Item: I give and bequeath to my son William Shokley a cow called Starr and her increase. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Elinor one shilling. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth one shilling. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary a fifty gallon casque of feathers. Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Ann Shokley Executrix of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I hereunto sett my hand and seale this 7th day of December Anno 1708.

Worcester Co MD 1766

In the name of God, Amen. I John Shockley Senr of Worcester County and Province of Maryland being in good health and of perfect memory thanks be to God Do make and ordain this to be my last will and Testament in manner and form as followeth. First, I give my Soul to Almighty God who gave it me and my Body to be buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter mentioned and as touching my worldly Estate which it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow on me I give in manner and form as followeth: First I give and bequeath to my son, Isaac Shockley 175 acres of land whereon I now live with all orchards houses and other conveniences to him and his male heirs. And if he dies without a male heir I give the said land to Benjamin Shockley his heirs or assigns forever Item my will is that my daughter Mary Shockley shall have a liberty to live in my house where I now live during her natural life or until she marry. Item I give to my son Benjamin Shockley 5 acres of land lying at the head of Wicomico River called Naughingham Town, to him and his heirs forever. Item I give to Jonathan Shockleys heirs one shilling sterling and no more. Item I give to my son John Shockley one shilling sterling and no more. Item I give to my son Solomon Shockley one shilling sterling and no more. Item I give to my daughter Sarah Christopher one shilling sterling and no more. And further my will is that all the remaining part of my moveable estate be equally divided between my son Isaac Shockley and Mary Shockley and I do appoint Isaac Shockley hole (sic) and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and in testamony hereof I have set my hand and seal this 19th day of January 1761.
